In step 10 of searspartsdirect.com/Kenmore/room-air-conditioner/MODEL-58075184500-REPAIRGUIDE: So we are suppose to RIP OUT "THE WALL" ("barrier" PN 4790AR1558A) to remove the fan assembly. The fan assembly is stuck in this wall! Or do we need to remove this wall? Correction: That would require removing a screw from the OTHER side of "barrier" and removing the compressor and refrigerant lines. Boy, my engineering mind sees a better "mouse trap" there!

It sounds like there is a problem with the "pawls" on the starter. That should be covered under the warranty on the mower. You can contact the store where you purchased the mower to see if they can have someone take a look at it or if they have to schedule a technician for the repair.

If you want to make the repair yourself you need to remove the starter from the engine so you can see the bottom side of the starter. When you pull the rope, the pawls should come out. My guess would be that they're stuck or that they broke off (due to not retracting).

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
