Thank you for your question. I know it's frustrating when the refrigerator stops cooling. If it’s not cooling at all, it first needs to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will probably be in the seal system or with the compressor. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make. If the system is not under warranty any longer, this type of repair would probably not be economical. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and please include the complete model and serial number and I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi, Scott. Thank you for your reply. Model # 461.91782. Serial # 1911041803857. Should I take it to my nearest Sears repair store in West Covina, or just give it to them to recycle? It costs about $70. Is it worth it to get it repaired?

James, a seal system repair for this freezer would not be economical. I would recommend replacing the freezer in this case.

Hi, Scott. It is a refrigerator, not a freezer. However, I think you are writing that I should just get a new one. Thank you.

James. I'm sorry for the confusion. Yes this is a refrigerator and it would be more practical to purchase a new unit, instead of having this type of repair done.

Hi,

Thank you for asking this question and allow me to answer it this way.

That fridge uses thermoelectric technology to cool. It uses what is called a "peltier" chip, which basically takes heat and moves it from one side of the chip to the other when electricity is applied. If you reverse the polarity applied to a peltier chip, the cooling system, the opposite sides will get hot/cold respectively. In other words if you were to reverse the polarity of that you could in effect make the fridge a warmer and the heat sink would blow cool air.

The reason yours is not cooling is most likely because of that fan not spinning fast enough to dissipate the heat on the "hot side" of the peltier, the cooling system. If the heat cannot be taken away the, cold side, it will not get cold. Try spinning the fan by hand, does it spin freely? If so it is a power/voltage issue, which would also contribute to the problem, if the peltier is not getting enough volts/amps it will not work correctly. If the fan is difficult to spin or seems like its binding up or sticking, the bearing is most likely bad and it will need to be replaced. The voltage is 12v. You can also test the motor if you have a multimeter by setting to the dc volts scale and measuring what is coming out of the 2 pins. There is no diagram for this. It was never released.
Here is the link for the parts Kenmore Compact Refrigerator 461.91782 .
NOTE: Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

I hope this answer is useful and that it helps you correct the problem with your appliance.
Thank you for using ManageMyLife.

Your right a wiring diagram would be nice but the manufacture did not support us with one and if we have or had problems we called the manufacture. The Manufacture of the compact refrigerator is Danby and When we ran service and came across one of the compact we called Danby. Here is the number you can call to contact manufacture 1-800-263-2629. I found on utube a video about replacing the thermostat.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the electrical specs are not listed for this model. However, check the model tag, it should have the amps and voltage listed. To determine the watts, simply multiply the amps x the volts. For instance 115 volts times .5 amps will equal 57.5 watts. I hope this will help you.
