Q:

brake adjustment 502255040 Craftsman Tractor

A:

Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com and for being a valued member.

To adjust the brakes on this Dana 4450-1, look where the rod with the adjuster connects at the transaxle. It goes through a lever. That lever is connected to the tranny on a bracket. The bracket has 2 bolts, one on both ends and a nut in the middle where the lever pivots. Tighten this nut a couple of turns to tighten the brakes a bit.

If you would like to view the diagram of parts for the Dana, just enter 4450-1 as a model on SearsPartsDirect.com. Unfortunately, due to the age of the unit, both the brake discs and pucks have been discontinued.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
