Q:

Snow blower engin sputtiers then cuts out 536886540 Craftsman Snowthrower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the intermittently running engine. I know how frustrating that is.

This sounds like a spark issue. When the spark module or coil is going out, they will run erratically when the engine warms up. Next time the engine dies, pull out the plug (it may be hot), reattach it to the boot, and ground the base to the cylinder. Have a helper start the engine and see if there is spark. If not, replace the spark module. It is part number 440-505 for this Tecumseh 143.945001 engine model. If you do have spark, it will be fuel related, and you will want to clean the carb.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your range. Upon researching model 316791190; it sounds like the bake igniter is not functioning properly. The igniter reaches a certain temperature then sends power to the valve. The valve would then release gas to the burner. The igniter remains powered while the gas is flowing. The igniter may be shutting off after the gas flows out. This would then stop power to the valve. The broil has its own igniter. The burner tube may be worn and not allowing the correct amount of gas to flow out.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.
