Thank you for your question. I am assuming the hdmi video is working. If so, check the menu for audio settings. Toggle the menu. Check the jack and the speaker for connector damage and check resistance. If you are connecting to external audio equipment, check the manual.  LG has a good video to make sure this is set up correctly. Other troubleshooting requires some disassembly of the television. These are not good home repair projects. If repair is needed, you can schedule at Sears Home Services. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Hi Richard. By toggle the menu, I meant to verify the settings in the audio and device setups are correct. Several changes are made in the menu by using the buttons to toggle on and off. Did the DVR ever work with this TV? Not all devices are set up to work with this TV. I recommend checking with LG using their contact number in the link below.

if you have audio from the component inputs then the speakers are not an issue. if you tried the HDMI cable in another device and you have video and audio then the cable is not an issue. you have a bad main board. the main board is the board that all the cables hook up to on the TV and it controls the audio to the speakers.
