Question and Answers

Q:

Why does my Toshiba plasma TV’s red power indicator just blink?

A:

Go through the standard checks of making sure the electrical outlet is working by trying other locations and unplugging the set to make sure it doesn't stay latched down. If you still have a problem I would suspect a problem in the set. Plasma TVs generate a lot of heat and have some common failure components that require board swaps. I recommend finding a repair service provider to take a look at your set.

The first thing that technician should do is pull PJ63 from the Seine board. If the set comes up with no information then the Seine board is defective. It will give this symptom when it fails. Be sure to use an experienced technician so he does not hurt himself or your set. You can find a local shop that can work on your TV or contact a home servicer to come out like Sears .

Q:

Toshiba Plasma Model 42HP95 will not power on.

A:

For the red and green specs all over the screen before the set went out would be an “X-board.” This board controls a portion on the screen information and powers the screen. This board for this model was not available to be ordered by itself and had to be replaced with the plasma panel. The plasma panel would cost about $2250. With this price I would recommend to replace the TV set.
