Q:

My vissani beverage cooler quit cooling MCBC58DST Vissani 5.8 liter beverage cooler

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Looking into the information on this Vissani beverage cooler I'm showing the main issue could be the compressor. When these stop working (Not Cooling, I would normally point to the protector, or starter. These are on the side of the compressor and are what allow it to run properly. If you take them off you can shake them if they rattle they might need to be replaced. The part number for this is 312200500113.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

I just had this happen with my Vassani beverage cooler. It was indeed the starter device. It's located on the left side of the compressor and pulls off easily. Here's what you do: To get to the compressor, remove the back panel. You then have to remove a cover that is over the starting device (on the left side of the compressor). The cover is held on by a thin metal tension spring. Pull this off and you'll see the starting device with a lead wire attached to it, on the side of the compressor. Pull off the lead wire and you should be able to wiggle the device free. If it rattles, it's broken. I'm not a repair guy but there's a ceramic disk inside the device that's about the size of a quarter that looks like it serves as some sort of conduit limiter between two sets of prongs/contacts. I'm probably all wet but anyway mine was broken and fell out in a bunch of little pieces. Ordered a replacement part from Home Depot for $28.00 plus $6.00 shipping. Put the new one on and it works like a charm....nice and cold.

A:

Hello Earl: The usual reason for the salt storage tank to be full of water is that the venturi for drawing the brine back into the resin is stopped up and it just continues to add brine water and not draw any back for regeneration. There are instructions on the underside of the lip on the softener to clean the venturi. Once you have that done you will need to remove the salt and water from the salt storage area and once you have the water out you can return the salt to the unit. You will need to leave about 3 to 4 inches of water on the bottom for the brine will to use for the next regeneration after clean up. I will provide you with a link to Kenmore water.com so you can look at the interactive sight for troubleshooting your water softener. I hope this will help. Sam A.

Thank you for your question. Look down the black brine well tube and you should see about 2 to 3 inches of water that would be below the salt line. Normally you should not see water unless you are out of salt. Sam A.

I just installed this Kenmore Elite Hybrid water softener and I don't know if it is working properly. I installed it yesterday and looked in the brine tube today and the brine tube was bone dry. I am currently doing a manual regen during the day while the household is active. I'm wondering if I need to stop the regen or what to do at this point. My main question is should there be water in the brine tank during the day during normal use? Regards

I don't believe that the snow blower you have will work with the tractor you have. Even with the attach kit, I still don't think it will work. The snow thrower for that model tractor will typically be around 42" in width. The larger blowers (over 42") will generally only work with a garden tractor rather than a lawn tractor.

It depends on the snow plow/blade or blower. Some blowers and plows come with everything they need to attach to certain tractor models. Others will require a kit in order for them to work. The kit you mentioned shows to work with your tractor but nothing lists which blowers the tractor and kit will work with.

That sounds confusing and I apologize for that. There are many snow blower models that have been made over the years. Some of them will fit right up to your tractor and some of them won't. Some will take a kit and some won't. When I run your tractor model, the list generated is only for 2012 model snow blowers. Anything you're buying that's not new won't be listed as working or not. But it's generally a pretty safe guess if the snow blower is around a 42" inch model.

I'll also add that this happens because the snow blowers are manufactured by one company (Agri-Fab) and your tractor is made by AYP (Husqvarna). So one company is making the tractor and another company is making the blower. Add to the mix that Agri-Fab makes products for practically any lawn tractor on the market.
