Q:

Why is my Kenmore dryer not heating?

A:

In the image provided I have mapped out the path of voltage to the heating element. Starting at L2 the path of voltage has to pass through the timer, fabric selector switch, control thermostat & the high limit thermostat to one side of the heating element. The L1 path of voltage has to pass through the motor switch to the other side of the heating element. I recommend starting at source voltage, an electric dryer will run but not heat if one of the double 30 amp breakers trip.

Remember to use extreme caution when working with voltage & to disconnect power before attempting repairs.
