Q:

repair dryer

A:

I'm sorry to hear you are having this type of issue with your dryer. I know how important these are so I am happy to help. Make sure that the washer works normally because if the washer is not getting power then you probably have a voltage supply problem. Check the circuit breakers or house fuses for the laundry center in that situation. Turn the breakers for the dryer on and off. The dryer is controlled by two breakers and sometimes one leg of the breaker will trip and the dryer will run but will not heat. If the washer is getting power then the voltage supply to the laundry center is not an issue.

There are multiple internal components that can cause this type of issue. Testing these will require a volt/ohms meter. You could have a bad heating element, a failed timer, an open high limit safety thermostat, a bad operating thermostat or a wiring failure in the circuit that would prevent the dryer from heating. Parts in this laundry center are not easy to access and check so I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair the dryer.
