The image below shows how to access the components in the console of a similar laundry center. Your model will be slightly different than this one but the basic procedure will be about the same. You can view the parts list diagram of your laundry center on the Sears PartsDirect website to help you see how to access the console in your dryer. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

This type of diagnosis will require using a volt/ohmmeter for testing. First disconnect power to the washer & remove the front panel. I have provided you with a fault tree in the image below for help diagnosing the problem. If the pressure switch & lid switch show closed continuity & the motor is receiving 120volts, the motor will need to be replaced. If the lid switch & pressure switch check good & the motor is not receiving voltage you will need to replace the timer. Remember to use extreme caution when checking voltage & disconnect power when checking ohms (resistance).
