Q:

Washer/Dryer maintenance kit 41790872991

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Based upon the maintenance kit part number, it looks like it will fit but I cannot confirm it based upon the model number. Based upon the 417 source for the laundry center, the kit is applicable but my system can't confirm that this dryer maintenance kit will be 100%.
If it was me, I would feel confident enough to order the kit based upon what I've seen. I would total up the parts individually and weigh that based upon the cost of the kit and go from there. You may not need everything in the kit, but the parts individually may be more than the kit.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

In case this comes up for anyone else, the kit works with the dryer on the 41790872991. The felts, bearing, and belt all fit. The idler pulley works, but its arm does not, so remove the idler pulley from its assembly and swap with the original one.

Excellent. Thanks for the verification on the contents of the kit, I am sure this will help others who are in a similar situation. It makes economic sense to go with the kit versus everything individually, even if the idler arm doesn't. Thanks again for using SearsPartsDirect.com and for the update.

Q:

Dryer Drum won't turn

A:

Dryer's are one of the main appliances in a home so for it not to work can be frustrating. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, I found some great links in the Manage My Life website. I have attached the links below. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the laundry center. If the motor is running but the drum is not turning, the problem is the belt. The belt can be replaced from the front for the most part. It can be a tight squeeze to route the belt from the front but can be done. To replace the belt first unplug the unit. Then use the image below to access the belt. Once the belt is on try to reach through the front and route the belt around the motor and idler pulleys. The instructions show doing this from the access panel in the rear. Once the belt is installed, reassemble the unit and check the operation.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the repair of the laundry center.
