Question and Answers

How do you replace the washer belt on a Kenmore All-In-One Laundry Center model #41789390810?

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I'm not sure which large bracket you are speaking off. Generally speaking, the belt idler assembly will need to be removed and the drain pump in order to remove and replace the drive belt. We do not have any step by step instructions but if you remove the c-clip at the bottom of the belt tensioner pulley assembly and remove the screws securing the drain pump, you should be able to remove and replace the drive belt. This model may a spacer between the top of the drain pump and motor. You may be able to remove the spacer and work the belt out and in without having to drop the drain pump down. Be sure and disconnect the power cord from the unit before servicing.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

There is no C-Clip on the bottom on the belt tensioner assembly. If I remove the drain pump, the giant bracket still remains in the way. The drive motor shaft is connected to the bracket. In order to get the belt to drop, the bracket must be removed. The screws are near impossible to reach, that's why I was hoping for a shortcut.
