Thanks Joey, just to clarify from the images you sent for #3 the pulley in the forefront seems to be a belt tensioner which i see in my unit. So are you saying push the pulley wheel behind that one (in the background) forward in the direction of the belt tensioner

A:

The belt idler is spring loaded. Push on the idler arm towards the large pulley to release the tension on the belt so you remove the belt.

Hi Joey, unfortunately i was unable to remove the old belt. The smaller pulley is driven by the motor and the larger pulley just goes along for the ride. There is no way that I can see how I can remove the belt from around the smaller pulley, Actually there is no clear pathway to the small pulley. I tried pushing on it as best i could but it doesn't seem to move. Perhaps a number of obstructions need to be disconnected before the belt can be removed.

What about the agitation cycle? If the washer will agitate then the belt is okay. If the washer will drain then the motor is likely not the cause of the no spin problem. This is an older machine and step by step is not available. The images below may be helpful. You can remove the front and rear panel for access to take a look. Remember to unplug the unit first. I hope this helps. You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.
