My first thought was to check the manuals, so I checked both before I posted the question. Nothing in either covers stacking or unstacking. Thank you for trying to help, I appreciate it.

Dryer model 41783042200 issue

A:

I can understand how important it is to have a dryer drum in the correct spot. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below if you are interested in viewing. I hope the link that I provided is helpful. Have a great day.

Hi Byron,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your dryer.

Without being able to see the dryer I recommend that you check the drum support components at the back of the drum. Also, you need to determine if the back wall of the cabinet is bowed. Here is a link to the parts list diagram for your Dryer . You most likely need to replace the drum glides, and felt seals.

As I stated above this is kind of a hard call without being able to see the dryer. I highly recommend having a trained service technician evaluate this problem. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

This drum glide (item 24) how thick is it supposed to be the one on my dryer is a little less than an 1/8 inch thick. Is this piece thicker. What about the insulation piece that it rubs against on the front pannel of the dryer, should it be replaced as well, because if one is wore then obviously the other has wearing also. I couldn't find a part number for it. can you provide that for me. The back of the dryer isn't bowed so I know that isn't the problem. My cell number is 803.507.4828 if you would call me I sure would appreciate it because doing it this way is really slowing down the process. Byron

Hi Byron, That part should be at least a quarter of an inch thick. So without being able to see it, I would have to say it is worn down by at least half. The 2 parts that go on the back panel are 5303937183 FELT and 5303937182 UPPER FELT. Im sorry we are not allowed to call customers. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. Thanks again for using Manage My Life. Landell

Is there anything else that could cause this. There is a little stop guide on the top front of the dryer is that there for a purpose.

Hi Byron, The drum glide articulates with the felts. Together they hold the front of the dryer drum upright and in place. Landell

Landell, You told me the drum glide should be at least 1/4 inch thick. The part I got in the mail is not much thicker than the one on the dryer now (less than 1/8 thick). Why is this, I don't think this will solve the issue.

Hi Byron, I do not have one I can measure here in the building. This problem along with noise and vibration are extremely difficult to fix while not being able to see and touch what you are working on. The only other thing I can suggest without being there to see this dryer is to have a service technician evaluate this issue. I HIGHLY recommend having a trained service technician evaluate this problem. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Below is a link for the website. Q:

Why is my Kenmore dryer not always starting?

A:

On an intermittent problem like this you may need to call the Sears service person back out. It sounds like a loose connection at the motor or terminal block. I recommend calling for a second opinion from another Sears’s service person.
