Wiring Question 41769042991 Kenmore Dryer

Q:

Why do clothes get caught at the top of the drum while in the drying cycle then get stained or ripped apart in my dryer?

A:

Make sure that you are not overloading the dryer. This can sometimes cause this problem.

Garments getting caught at the top of the drum can be caused by worn or failed felt seals. A failure of the ball hitch bearing at the back of the drum can also contribute to this problem. If the front of the drum has play, you will likely need to change the felt drum seals at the front of the drum and possibly the ball hitch bearing at the back of the drum. This link of a previous answer describes the repair for this type of problem: Why does my Kenmore dryer model 417.69042991 squeak when it runs and why do clothes get caught between the drum and dryer panel?

You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website if needed.

There is a chance that you have a problem with the rear bearing in that dryer drum. Here is a link for a previous answer that shows how to access and replace that component: how to determine if part # 5303281153 is defective or not .

I recommend that you unplug the dryer and check that bearing as discussed in that previous answer.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
