A:

You probably have a short circuit in that coin box control. I recommend that you have a service technician examine and repair the coin box.

Q:

Kenmore commercial front load washer 417.24182301

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when not being able to open the door on the washing machine.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your model number 417.24182301.

First push against the door and make sure that nothing inside is laying/pressing against it.

Next, check the water that is still in the drum.  If there is still too much water inside that didn't pump out, the manually drain by removing the drain hose clamp.

Check the wiring on the main control board to the door lock switch.

Take a look at this model.  On most machinesyou can manually unlock the door by removing the service panel below the door.  Then you can manually get the door unlocked by removing 3 screw across the bottom of the panel.  Reach in on the inside, behind the door panel area and you should find a small round release ring.   Pull it down and the door will remain open.

If this isn't a drain problem, then most likely it is either a wire or a control board issue.   Good luck.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Q:

Why does my Kenmore washer stop in the middle of the cycle?

A:

On something like this you will need to use a volt meter to help diagnose the problem. It sounds like the motor speed control board has failed or a wiring harness problem. If you have a meter I have provided you with some troubleshooting tips. Please check your e-mail for further information covering this symptom.

Remember to use extreme caution when working with voltage.

Hello, I also have this washer, and have had the repairman give up on it. The speed control board has been replaced, but the flowchart that I was using (not completely the correct one) tells me that the speed control board is bad. It seems like the speed control board and the timer are not communicating properly together. It appeared that I may have the wrong board installed, so I ordered a replacement that I was told was correct, but it turned out to be identical to the first replacement. What next? Any suggestions? I sure do appreciate it. I am attaching a link to a forum where I posted some photos and got a little more in depth on the problem. Thank You, Mike
