Thank you for choosing ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it can be when you have to manually light your grill. I have included instructions below on how to do this.

1. Make sure the gas is turned off.

2. Remove the cooking grids and set them aside. Locate the burners at the bottom of the grill.

3. Light a long match and hold it near one of the burners. Matches that are made for lighting fireplaces are the safest to use for this job.

4. Turn the gas knob counter-clockwise slowly until the fire ignites. If you turn it on too fast, it could either burn you or the flame on the match will go out due to the strong gust of wind.

5. Put the cooking grids back on.

6. Turn the knobs for the other burners on the grill if necessary. The flame from the first burner is enough to ignite the others beside it.

Before changing the battery on the ignitor, remember to
shut the gas valve in the line connected to the grill, turning the handle on the valve clockwise then open it back up when you're done with the repair. Remove the cover on the battery compartment behind the grill's control panel or mounted just below the control panel. The cover may slide off, or it may be secured with a single screw that must be removed before you can take off the cover. On select models, the battery compartment unscrews to reveal the battery underneath.

Remove the burners to make sure they are not stopped up. Oddly enough, spiders seem to really enjoy packing burners full of webs.

If the burners are clear than you will need to replace the valve assembly. It is part number 80018398 and is available HERE .

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
