Q:

New Prgressive Vaccum 21514. When I slide button for the powerhead to come on the main motor turns off. How can I correct this?

A:

I can understand how frustrating it might be when your vacuum is not working correctly. The more information you provide the better result you will get by the expert. The suggestion that i have for you is to place the full model number so that way he can answer your question more specifically.

Thank you for your question.

Not having the vacuum motor running when the power mate is on is a concern.

If the vacuum motor works on the hard floor settings then we know the suction motor circuit is ok.

  • It sounds like the problem is in the slide handle switch and will need to be replaced.

If the unit is still under warranty I would suggest that you take just the handle hose assembly in to be repaired.

If it is not under warranty then we will need to take the handle assembly apart and change the switch out.

  • You will need to remove the 3 to 5 screws in the handle half and split the handle making sure you locate how the switch is captured between the two halves of the handle.

NOTE; how the switch is wired before you replace with the new switch to make sure have it pointing the right direction.

The part number for the switch assembly is;KC87GDKNZ000 and you can purchase it from;Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears technician. Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: [Sears Home Services | http://services.sears.com/shs/category/repair?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch

I hope this will help with your vacuum issue.

Hi Sam, My issue is I can't get the 2 halves of the wand apart. I'm afraid to pull too hard, otherwise it seems like it may break. Does it slide apart or do you pry it apart. If prying, where do you start to make it easiest to separate? I Only need to replace the spring for the wand release button, so should be trivial once I get it apart. Thanks!

Q:

how do i replace a cam shaft on my kenmore refrigerator? 795.7130*4010

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 79571304010 and the cam slides into the center divider holder. You will need to remove the cover you will start from the bottom and pop each clip out as you move up the cover. You  will now need to replace the lower one also part # is 4430JJ2005B. Here is a video that will help with the gasket. You will need to work the gasket back into place. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Unfortunately, due to the age of this GE dishwasher, we do not have the specific literature available to provide the dimensions for it.

We would recommend either contacting GE's technical support, or take physical measurements of the unit to obtain the dimensions.
