Question and Answers

Q:

We have a model #390 26080 pump. Would like to know if it hurts the pump to be running and we turn off the hose. Does it build up pressure? Thank you.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Yes, it could damage the pump by leaving the pump running and turning off the hose and leaving pressure in hose/pump. It can cause the water in the pump to get very hot and it can damage the pump seals.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

I have a Sears centrifugal lawn pump model 39026080. 1 HP. All I am trying to find out is the gallon per minute or gallon per hour rate of this pump.

I understand you would like to know the gallon per minute or gallon per hour. I found a link at Sears.com that shows the picture and on the bottom of the page there is "product description" that says how many gallons per minute. I attached the link below, and I hope this helps!!!!!!!

Due to the age of this pump (1974) we do not have any supporting documentation on it any longer. I wouldn’t even be able to make an reasonable guess as to the output of this pump.

I wish I could offer more help, but I’m afraid we just don’t have that information around anymore.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
