I am sending an image showing how to remove the seal and impeller from the motor. The canopy the instructions mention is the cover on the rear of the motor. The rear end of the motor shaft has a flat side for a wrench so you can unscrew the impeller.

The starting switch or the motor winding can cause the motor to stop running and get hot. The information you sent that the motor stopped when the outlet hose popped off would make me think the motor has failed.

I am sending you a link to a page on sears.com showing the selection of water well pumps. I would consider replacing the pump.

Ok Thanks. I had taken pump out and it felt frozen so thinking i was going to replace started tapping end of shaft with hammer to tap it out of bushing(after removing turbine) and of course the shaft started feeling like it was freed up but my new problem is i think i may have slightly bent a thread which will cut into threads incorrectly on plastic turbine/would you know the type of thread on this pump shaft? They are fine threads/seem like have inch or MMeters just above/ dunno. Need to get a nut to try and screw on/ repair threads. (Screwed on in normal direction to tighten?) Model number 390.251181 thanks again/ ill start looking for a new motor :)

The motor will have a 1/2 inch shaft. I do not know what the threads per inch is. You rotate the impeller counter clockwise from the shaft end to remove. The shaft sticks through the motor and has a flat side on the shaft. You can put a wrench on the shaft to hold it while you remove and install the impeller.

Your pump is a shallow well jet pump. If you go to www.sears.com and enter 08302514000 in the search field, you can see the information on a replacement pump.

Thank You too/New question: I have the new pump now from Sears that was part number given to me but the old pump had two ports moulded in the plastic endcap that goes to the wel/ 2 plastic pipes were connectected to it. The new pump only has one outlet there. The new pump has the port going to the house in the same place as the old one at the top of the same plastic plate. (summary: old pump 3 threaded ports for hose lines total- 2 in at end and one out at top of same plate/new pump only 2, or one in at end and one out at top of endcap) Do I have the wrong model? Thanks

Robert, the pump with only one suction pipe has the jet (venturi) inside the pump housing. The pump with 2 pipes has the jet inside the well. I recommend you call Sears Parts Direct at 1-800-252-1698 and ask which pump you need to replace yours. Get permission to return the pump you bought and order a 2 pipe pump to replace your original.
