Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the line getting hot and the fuse blowing. The power surge may have damaged the fan motor. If the fan is not turning, it will be normal for the line to get hot. The pressure will get high and the compressor will pull more current. When this happens, it can cause the fuse to blow and sometimes the compressor overload may shut the compressor off, before the fuse blows. The motor # HC39GE237 will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . I recommend having a technician make this repair, to determine if anything else may have been affected. The pressures will also need to be checked at this time, which will require special equipment that the tech will have. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps you. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

We have had this unit for 15 years, original owner of the house. The Evaporator Coil has a leak, so that part needs to be replaced. An AC repair guy came out and said that part#322337-7014 doesnt exist, so I researched and found it that it does exist. He said since a different Evap Coil had to be put, that he needed to do modifications to my unit and the duct work. My question is this, does this sound like a normal course of action or does this sound like he is trying to make more money on the repair? I really dont anyone messing with my ductwork to the house.
