Thank you for your question.

I am sorry the clean out is not mentioned in the manual. To use the deck washout connect a garden hose to the connector on the mower deck. Then turn the water on and start the mower. Run the mower until the water coming from under the mower is clear. I do recommend cleaning the mower in an area that will not be stained by the grass coming off the deck. I cleaned my mower on the driveway and the grass stained the concrete. Therefore, you want to be careful.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply below with more details.

Thank you for your question.

You are right the manual does not mention the washout connector. To use the wash out, connect the harden hose to it. Then start the mower and turn the mower on. The mower has to be running for the washout to work properly. When the blade turns is sprays the water all over the underside. Once the water from under the mower runs clear, turn the mower off and then the water. Disconnect the hose and let the mower dry before using it again.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you...makes sense to me.... but, I guess you meant, "Then start the mower and turn the WATER on." I was wondering if this method of cleaning would cause any problems with the drive belt? More importantly, could the COLD water hit the HOT underside of the engine and cause a problem (crack). Might it not be better to let the engine cool down before starting this clean out process...hmm?

Thank you for the reply. Sorry for the typo. I meant start the mower and turn the water on. It should not matter if the engine is hot or cold seeing as the water will only be spraying the underside of the engine. I have the same mower and clean it out right after I am done mowing. Otherwise, the grass has time to dry to the underside. I have not run into any problems with the belt either. I hope this helpful.
