Question and Answers

Q:

Garage door in order to close must hold bottom down to close

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and for contacting us with your question about your garage door opener. I am so sorry it will not close the garage door unless the button is held.  I will be happy to help you with this.

Your question did not include the brand name or model number of your garage door opener. Therefore, I cannot research your specific model. I will give you the most likely causes of this issue.

If your opener uses safety sensors at the base of the garage door, it is most likely those are out of alignment or are no longer working. When the beam between the sensors is disrupted, the opener reverse the down travel of the door so that whatever or whoever broke the beam isn’t hit by the door. Your owner manual for the door opener should have the instructions on how to test the sensors.

If the sensors are fine, you will need to check the rails for anything in the path of the trolley. Be sure to disconnect the trolley from the opener before inspecting the rails to prevent the door from accidently moving during your inspection. Disconnect the trolley by pulling the emergency release when the door is in the closed position. Caution – pulling the emergency release when the door is open could cause the door to come crashing down.

You should also check to see if the door is balanced. I have included our manufacturer’s instructions on testing the door balance.

If the door fails the balance test it should be serviced by a qualified technician. Do not attempt to balance the door yourself. It is a dangerous repair if you are not familiar with the procedure.

Another issue that could prevent the door from closing is the force and limits need to be adjusted. The upward force may be too low. The force and limits need to be adjusted periodically as they can change for various reasons. I have included the link to our troubleshooting guides for additional tips to help you diagnose the problem.

If the information I have provided does not help you resolve your issue, I recommend you contact our garage door repair service at www.SearsGarageDoors.com or by 1-888745-3667 and schedule service.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

Belt too long? 11072974103 Kenmore Gas dryer

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Based upon the dryer model of 110.72974103, the dryer repair kit of 4392067 is the correct kit. If the belt seems too long, it is probably not routed correctly around the idler and motor pulley. I have provided an image below to show the routing of the belt.

There are also some great YouTube videos you can watch to see how the belts are installed and routed.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

A:

Thank you for contacting ManageMyLife.com regarding the F93 error code being displayed by your Kenmore gas range. I see Julio provided you with some excellent information. I'm happy to helps you today.

The F93 error code indicates the max oven door lock time has been exceeded. If the oven door light checks good, I recommend replacing the oven door lock assembly. However, it is possible that the electronic oven control  may be at fault.

Before replacing any parts, you can try pushing inwards on the door and keep tension on it while starting a clean cycle, let it run for about 2 minutes, then cancel the clean cycle. This may unlock the oven door and the unit might resume normal operation.

The images below will provide you with more information on the error code. If you do not feel comfortable using a volt/ohm meter or repairing this issue yourself, I strongly recommend scheduling service at Sears Home Services. Parts can be purchased from Sears PartsDirect.

Before attempting the repair or accessing internal components, please be sure to disconnect the range from all power and the gas supply.

I really hope this information helps you today. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.
