Question and Answers

Q:

water on floor at front left 36377572791 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. The defrost water runs down the outside rear of the refrigerator in a plastic hose. It goes into a condensate pan underneath the refrigerator and the heat from the compressor and condenser coil evaporates the water. The condensate pan might have a crack in it or it could be overflowing. If the condensate pan is full of water you probably have a door gasket not sealing good. The extra air getting into the cabinet will cause excess frost on the evaporator coils and excess water going into the condensate pan. Hope this information has help you, any further questions or concerns. You will have to post a new question because at this time I can not reply to any comments. Aging, Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the water leak. If there is no frost accumulation on the back freezer panel and water is running down into the fridge section, it indicates the unit is defrosting but not draining properly. This would indicate that either the drain funnel (# 226 in picture) is stopped up or the drain is frozen. The funnel can be pulled out, checked and cleaned. If it's clear, the drain under the evaporator will probably be frozen. To clear the drain, the back panel in the freezer will need to be removed to access the drain under the evaporator. Use hot water to clear the drain. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
