Ron H...thanks for your reply. I'm curious to know how you find the capacity? Is it in the model number. I searched the unit and couldn't find anything. Would it be in the manual if I can find it? It was already in the house when I purchased it. Thanks.

A:

I know it can be frustrating to have issues with the ice maker. This can be caused from the icemaker itself, the water valve or a shorted wire. If the only way to stop water flow to the icemaker is, by turning the supply valve off, it indicates the water valve is stuck. In this case the valve # WR57X10051 will need to be replaced. If water will stop flowing by unplugging the power cord, it indicates the icemaker switch is stuck or there is a wiring problem. This can be determined, by disconnecting the icemaker wire harness and if water stops, the water switch # WR29X5171 will need to be replaced or the complete icemaker # WR30X10014. If water still flows, it means there is a short in the wires. A technician may be needed to check this. Safety Notice: Be sure to disconnect the appliance before performing any troubleshooting procedures.
