Question and Answers

Q:

Water Leaking

A:

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the icemaker leaking. This type of problem is usually caused by the water valve. However, first try adjusting (reducing) the water fill at the icemaker. If the replacement icemaker that was installed is # WR30X10093, I'm attaching a picture with instructions to make this adjustment. If the icemaker still overfills, the water valve # WR57X10051 will need to be replaced. It's available at Sears PartsDirect. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Q:

New ice maker not working

A:

Installing a new ice maker should take care of most issues. It would be discouraging to have a further problem. The expert will review this model and respond with model specific information. I did locate one similar question with some troubleshooting that may help while you wait. I attached the link below.

A:

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the icemaker stops working. The information you have received from Barbara is very good. Check to see if the fill tube behind the icemaker is frozen. If it is, a hair dryer can be used to thaw it out. Just be careful not to get it too hot. If the tube is clear, cycle the icemaker manually (see image) and watch it, to see if it will fill, toward the end of the cycle. If it does not fill but you can hear a humming sound, the water valve # WR57X10051 will probably need to be replaced. First, make sure the water supply is ok to the valve. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Q:

Why won't this replacement icemaker fit?

A:

This is the replacement icemaker and should fit. Sometimes the harness connection can be different. If this is the problem, you can take the harness off of the original icemaker and install it on the new icemaker. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
