Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If you're speaking of the inlet assembly on the left side of the tub, it is not replaceable. You would have to replace the tub. If it's leaking because the fill water is backing up and out the vent hole, this is usually caused be a restriction where the hose is attached or inside the chamber. If for some reason the water inlet valve is letting too much pressure or volume of water, it can also back up.

If it's cracked or split, you cause use some silicone sealant to seal the crack or split.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks for taking the time to submit a question. I can most likely help you with this but I may need a few more details.

Does the water come out from under the door? This may be caused by a split in the spray arm or one of the holes being clogged so the water sprays in a new direction.

The dishwasher is an "older model" so I don't expect the problem to be caused by any installation issues.

Does the dishwasher seem to drain okay?

You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

Q:

Why won't my Kenmore dishwasher model 363.1556993 drain water?

A:

The air gap is not installed on every dishwasher drain system. If it is, you will see a dome to one side of your kitchen sink faucets. The drain hose for the dishwasher will connect to this air gap. A line will then run from the air gap to the garbage disposal or drain under the sink. If you have this air gap installed in your drain system, check it for a clog.

If you recently installed a new garbage disposal, make sure that the dishwasher knock-out plug was properly removed.

Removing the lower spray arm of this dishwasher will not likely help you fix a draining problem. I recommend that you remove the inlet sump cover at the back of the dishwasher tub. A cellophane wrapper or other debris could be clogging this sump and preventing the dishwasher from draining. After removing the sump cover, slowly reach down into the sump and check for a wrapper or debris. Be careful. A piece of broken glass could be in the sump along with other debris. If you can find and remove an obstruction in this area, you may be able to fix your dishwasher drain problem.

If these tips don't help, you will likely need to have the dishwasher serviced by a technician. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
