My Dishwasher will not drain, why?

A:

The motor has a winding that is grounding once the motor heats up and thats why it trips the gfi after it has ran a min or two. the bearings are fine and letting the shaft spin . look at the label on the motor , record info , find a new one. Grainger.com is prob the cheapest

A:

I know that is it very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. A shorted circuit to ground could be cause by any bare wire or electrical component touching or internally shorted to ground or neutral. It could have wire that has rubbed and worn off the insulation and exposing the bare copper wire and touching any grounded metal. It could have pinched wire in the wire harness. It could also have a shorted wash motor, drain motor, heating element or it could be a weak circuit breaker. It will require testing each component with an ohm meter to see if any component is shorted.
