I recommend that you use it. Just click here to view that link. I also recommend checking the drain solenoid with a multimeter. If the solenoid does not work, the dishwasher will not attempt to drain the water. The part number of the drain solenoid is WD21X10060. I hope this helps.

The thing that worries me with this problem is that you say "the detergent dispenser door sometimes fails to open."

Intermittent problems that work sometimes and sometimes do not can be difficult to pin down and fix.

The images below may be of help to you in resolving this problem.

Be sure not to overfill the soap container and jam the door from opening.

As the timer turns it will cause a lever to trip opening the door. A common problem is the spring on the lever often breaks or the post the spring is mounted to breaks.
