Q:

How do I remove the upper dish rack from my Kenmore dishwasher model number 36314582100?

A:

To remove the upper rack from this dishwasher, you will need to remove the rack slide end cap (Key 652 in the image below) from the rail on each side of the upper rack slide. After removing the end caps, you should be able to pull the upper rack completely out of the dishwasher.

Q:

How to remove the white cover with grid from inside my dishwasher?

A:

Both covers inside the tub at the rear are removable. See images below. The sump cover (key#506) is held down by 2 screws and you may have to remove one of the heating element support screws and support to completely remove the filter screen (key#543). The sump cap (key#508) pulls up and out of tub. The filter screen assembly (key#453) is also held down by a couple of screws. Once you remove the filter screen (key#543) you will see the top of the piston/nut assembly which can fail and cause an incomplete pump out. Remove the piston and nut assembly by turning it counterclockwise (CCW) and inspect the rubber seal. If the rubber is deteriorated, replace the piston and nut assembly and your dishwasher will likely pump out all the water again like it should again. The piston and nut assembly is part# WD24X10018.
