Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There are several things that must happen in order to dissolve and distribute the detergent once the dispenser opens. It requires thermal energy (hot water of a minimum of 120 degrees), chemical energy (detergent), and mechanical energy (washer spray arms and pump). Based on your symptom and details it sounds like it's not filling with enough hot water or the spray arm is not turning.

The dishwasher must fill with a minimum of 120 degree hot water. The pump must be able to recirculate/spray water with force through the spray arm. The spray arm must rotate while it's washing. Start the dishwasher and allow it time to complete the fill cycle. Open the door slowly and check the water level. Shut the door and allow the dishwasher to operate for a few minutes before it drains. Open the door and recheck the water level. If the drain valve is not seating properly, the wash water will drain out slowly while its washing and before long there is no more water in the dishwasher. If this happens, the pump motor assembly will need to be replaced.

If the water level does not appear to decrease, manually add some water up to where the water level will touch the bottom of the float cover located in the front corner. Start the dishwasher and if sounds like it's spraying with constant force, the water inlet valve is likely restricted and needs to be replaced.

If the dishwasher is filling with enough hot water and the water is not draining while washing, there could be something in the sump restricting the water flow into the pump. The cover inside the dishwasher at the bottom back will need to be taken off and then lift the sump cap up and off. Carefully reach down into the sump area (there could be broken glass) and see if there is any type of paper or Saran wrap restricting the flow of water into the pump.

I added a YouTube video with good information to review.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

A:

The solenoid is best access by removing the lower toe panel and pulling the dishwasher out from under the counter. There should be enough slack in the lines to not have to uninstall anything.

Remember to turn the power to the dishwasher off first.

The image below should be of help to you.

You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.
