Q:

igniter connectors dont snap together 362.75970691

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

You are correct; you will want to cut the connectors for the igniter and use the ceramic wire nuts to splice the wires together. That is a common practice with the substituted igniters, which is why the igniter should have included the ceramic wire nuts.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If it has a new glow bar bake ignitor and it the ignitor will not glow red; it could have a faulty electronic oven control/clock assembly or an open circuit in the oven gas valve assembly.

The oven control must close the bake relay in order to provide voltage through the gas valve circuit and to the bake ignitor. If the bake igniter is not getting the 120 voltage supply, it will not glow. If it does not glow, the gas valve will not open. The oven is control is more likely faulty than the oven gas valve. The oven gas valve can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. If the gas valve measures continuity, I suspect a faulty electronic oven control/clock assembly. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before diagnosing and servicing the range.

The oven control has an overlay that has a self adhesive that will need to be replaced too if the control is replaced but it's no longer available. I don't think you will be able to reuse the existing overlay say keep that in mind if you decide to replace the electronic oven control. The oven control is available but it will need to taken out by a service technician and sent of to a company called http://www.corecentricsolutions.com/ to have the control repaired.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

The pressure regulator has a valve on it that turns the gas off to the oven burners only. In the process of replacing the bake ignitor, if you changed the position of the valve it would keep the broiler from working.

Since the new ignitor for the bake burner is not glowing, I suspect either the relay on the clock or the bake portion of the oven safety valve has failed.

If you have a volt meter and want to troubleshoot the oven, reply on this thread and I will be glad to help. If you are not comfortable making the necessary voltage checks, you can go to Home Services and get a Sears technician to repair the range.
