Range Kenmore model 36275944100, how to install safety valve wb19k36?

I understand that you want to install a safety valve on your Kenmore range. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I provided is helpful. Have a nice day.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

To access the oven safety valve:

  • Disconnect the power supply from the oven.
  • Turn off the gas supply to the oven.
  • Remove the storage drawer.
  • Make a note or drawing of where the 4 wires attach to the oven safety valve.
  • Disconnect the 4 wires from the oven safety valve.
  • Remove the 3 gas line fittings from the oven safety valve.
  • Remove the screws securing the oven safety valve.
  • Remove the oven safety valve and then reverse the procedure to install the new oven safety valve.
  • Turn the gas back on and check for gas leaks at the fittings with a 50/50 solution of liquid dish soap and water. Cover the fittings with the solution and then wait a few minutes and then check for any bubbles. If you see bubbles, the gas fitting is leaking. If no leaks are present, reconnect the power supply and check oven operation.

NOTE: I highly recommend calling a service technician to replace the oven safety valve to insure it's installed properly and with no gas leaks.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Is the oven on my Kenmore range supposed to keep making a poof noise while the oven is on?

The preheat light will glow constantly when the oven reaches the preheated temperature on this model. The poof noise that you are hearing about every 40 seconds sounds like the burner is reigniting. You could have a problem with the control, igniter, gas valve or wiring harness that could be causing this frequent re-ignition process. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair this type of oven burner problem.
