Q:

Oven does not reach temperature by over 100 degrees 36275678691 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Normally when you having an issue with temp on an oven, it would most likely be the temp prob. This is what sends the temp to the control board to make it stop the power to the heating element. It could also be the control board but I would replace the temp probe first.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

The oven safety valve or the oven ignitor can cause the oven to be slow to light. Usually the problem is caused by the ignitor.

If the broil burner on your range lights within 40 seconds and the bake burner takes longer, trade the ignitors and see if the problem moves to the other burner. The ignitors on your range are identical so you can move the broil ignitor to the bake burner and see if the bake burner lights more quickly.

The part number of the oven ignitor for your range is WB13K21 and the cost is $81.04.

On something like this we need to know if the igniter is coming on or not. If the igniter is coming on but not lighting the burner you will need to replace the igniter. If the igniter is not coming on you will need to use a volt meter to check the voltage to the igniter. If you do not have 120volts at the igniter I suspect a faulty EOC (clock) or wiring harness problem.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.
