Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Your model range does not have free standing pilot light. The oven has an electronic glow bar igniter that must receive 120 volts in order to glow red hot and it must pull enough current/amperage to cause the oven gas valve to open. If you select broil and open the door and look up; you will see the broil igniter glowing. The bake operation works the same way. If the bake igniter is not glowing, it could have a faulty bake igniter, clock/oven control or the oven thermostat. If the bake igniter is glowing, the bake igniter is most likely too weak to cause the gas valve to open and the igniter will need to be replaced.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . I strongly suggest calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair your gas range.

Ryan; If the bake and broil igniters will glow bright red, and both bake and broil functions quit at the same time, the lever on the gas pressure regulator may have been flipped to the OFF position. If the bake and broil igniters are not glowing red, then it could have faulty electronic oven control/clock assembly. If the bake and broil glow bar igniter do glow, slide the range out and check to see if the lever on the gas pressure regulator in in the OFF position. When the lever is in the OFF position, it shuts the gas off to oven only and not the surface burners. I added an image below with what the lever may look like on yours.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Thank you for adding the model number to the thread. Based on your symptom and details it sounds like the igniter is beginning to become too weak to cause the oven gas valve to open at times. Replace the igniter and your oven will most likely heat properly and maintain heat. The part number of the bake igniter is #WB2X9154 which can be ordered from SearsPartsDirect .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
