Question and Answers

Q:

Have a gas range 36275502000 when turn oven on self clean lights up oven doesn't work Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you.  I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

It’s hard to say what would be a main issue here. Dose the oven work on a normal bake/broil cycle? If the self-clean is the only thing that doesn’t work then it would be the oven control that would need to be replaced. If bake/broil isn’t working on a normal cycle then you'll need to look more at the igniter, and or the gas valve.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

kenmore range repair

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The gas pressure regulator has a lever. If the lever is sitting flush, the gas flow to the oven is shut off but the surface burners will still be supplied with gas. Flip the lever up and then see if oven will ignite. I added an image below of the pressure regulator and lever and the position of the lever in the "OFF" position.

This may be the issue. If not, please reply and I will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F2" fault code indicates an over temperature. If the oven is getting extremely hot, the electronic oven control could have stuck or welded contacts in the bake or broil relay. You will likely have to disconnect the power from the range to stop it from beeping and then call for service.

This could also be caused by a faulty oven temperature sensor probe.

The "F3" fault code indicates open or shorted oven temperature sensor probe or an open or shorted oven temperature sensor harness. This could also be caused by a faulty electronic oven control. I added an image below with information regarding the F2 and F3 fault codes.
