Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't my Kenmore gas range maintain temperature?

A:

The likely cause of your oven not maintaining temperature is a weak Bake igniter. When the igniter becomes weak it may pull enough current the first time the oven is turned on but once it gets hot the igniter may not pull enough current to open the gas valve. If you find the glow bar glowing red without any burner ignition, replace the bake igniter.

I recommend removing the floor of the oven and replace the glow bar bake igniter. Part #WB13K21
