Thank you for contacting Sears. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore range..

I can understand the frustration of your range not functioning properly, after researching model number 362.75278691. It's more likely an igniter failure than it would be a thermostat or oven safety valve failure. If the bake igniter is glowing red and the oven never ignites then the bake igniter is too weak to pull enough current/amperage to cause the oven safety valve to open. Replace the bake igniter and your oven will most likely operate again. If the bake igniter is not glowing the igniter is likely broken or it could have a faulty oven safety valve or oven thermostat.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business, have a great day.

*Safety disclaimer before you try and repair the unit make sure the power supply is disconnected. There may be sharp parts to the unit that can cause injury to you if not careful. Q:

The oven does not ignite, gas is connected, switch is on. Should we assume it is the igniter burner?

A:

If the igniter does not glow, the problem can be in the thermostat, oven safety valve, or the igniter. You can remove the igniter and look at it and usually see if it is burned out. Otherwise you need to check voltage to find out which part is bad.
