Question and Answers

Takes an extremely long time (20+ min) for the oven to light 36275191892 Kenmore Gas range

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Based on your description, the igniter is the likely failed component. Even though the igniter is glowing, it is not likely heating to a point where the resistance is decreasing to allow the minimum 2.9 amps of current flow through the safety gas valve. Essentially, if the igniter doesn’t glow hot enough, the safety valve will not release the gas. Replacing the igniter will probably fix this problem.

I hope this helps and thanks for using We appreciate your business.

I have yellow flame on my broiler burner what might be the problem? 36275191892 Kenmore Gas range

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears
I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the gas range.
Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 362.75191892.

There is no orifices for an oven bake at the bottom or broil at the top.  The broil burner should have a bright red flame.   YOu can take the broil or bake ignitor and test them out the same way.

How to test gas ignitors for ranges:
1.  Unplug the oven from the wall for your safety.
2.  Lower the oven door.  Sometimes best to have more room and just remove it.
3.  Remove the oven racks from inside.  Remove the lower panel when testing the bake ignitor.
4.  Remove the burner shield by taking out the screws that secure it to ignitor first.
5.  Next take out the screws that hold the ignitor.  Pull the ignitor away from the oven wall.
Unclip the wire connector.  If the wire connector is not accessible, remove the back rear
panel to the oven, or remove the bottom storage drawer to access the wire connector.
6.  Get a multimeter to the lowest setting so you can measure the Ohms of resistance.  Calibrate
the meter. Refer to your meters instructions
7.  Place one of the terminals on the ovens bake ignitor's terminal with one of the multimeters
probes.  Then touch the other terminal with the other probe.
8.  Check the multimeter's display  If the meter does not move, displaying a resistance of any
numbers on the Ohms of resistance, there is no continuity.   If no continuity then the bake
    ignitor is bad.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears

Thank you for your question.

  • As listed in your owners manual on page 40 of the owners manual. It lists type A and Type B. style regulators.

  • What it usually instructs is to remove the cap and turn it over and thread it back on. If this is not the case do you think you could send us a picture of the the regulator so we could be of further assistence
