Q:

Why does my oven light keep blinking after the self cleaning cycle on my kenmore gas range?

A:

Hello, Appliances can be frustrating sometimes they just give out, out of the blue. It can be frustrating especially when its a main appliance like a stove. If you go to the top of the page here on ManageMyLife and click on the "manuals" button and enter your model number there you can troubleshoot. I hope this helps!

Make sure that you slide the oven door latch all of the way to the left after the clean cycle. If the latch is still positioned to the right in the locked position then the CLEAN light will continue to blink. If the door latch lever is positioned properly to the left and the CLEAN light is still flashing then you could have a problem with the latch mechanism or the electronic oven control. You can try to reset the electronic control board by unplugging the range for several minutes (or shutting off the breaker for the range outlet) to completely disconnect electrical power. If the CLEAN light still blinks after you restore electrical power then you will likely need to have the range serviced by a technician. Q:

Why is the oven on my Kenmore gas range not heating correctly?

A:

What your describing sounds like either the igniter is weak or the EOC, electronic oven control is faulty. You will need to check the current draw of the igniter with a meter to confirm the diagnosis. The igniter should draw between 3.2 & 3.7 amps. If the igniter checks good then I recommend replacing the EOC.

If you have an amp probe meter & decide to perform the repairs please get back with us for specific repair tips. I have also included some helpful images provided below.

Other possibilities; gas valve. fuel/air mixture, orifice or harness problems.
