Question and Answers

Q:

my oven doesnt work 36273221200 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your range. Upon researching model 36273221200; it sounds like the ignitor may need to be replaced. The igniter gets hot enough to allow the gas valve to open and ignite the oven, so when the ignitor fails it will still glow and get hot but it will not get hot enough to activate the valve. I have posted a link of the igniter to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Q:

Why won't the right front burner ignite on my stove even though it is sparking?

A:

I recommend checking for a spill that could be clogging the orifice of the burner. You did not indicate whether the burner will ignite with a lighter. If the burner will light manually, check for a spill on the electrode of the igniter that may be inhibiting the spark.

If you are apparently getting no gas through the orifice, then you could have a failed gas valve or a clog further down in the orifice. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair this type of failure on a gas range.

For John: Since you do not hear the igniters clicking when you turn on the burner, it is likely that the burner switch for that burner is bad. That burner switch comes as part of an entire burner switch and harness assembly (part 316219004). The switches are not sold individually. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect.com website (see link below). I provided a procedure for accessing that assembly in the image below. Be sure that you UNPLUG the range and shut off the gas supply before accessing internal component. If you are not completely confident that you can safely complete this repair yourself, I recommend that you have the range repaired by a Sears Service Technician. I provided a link for the Sears Service website below. If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
