Question and Answers

Q:

installation of temperature sensor 36272320100

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The part number for the sensor of WB21X5301 is the correct part number for your model. This part was substituted in from the original part of WB20K0004. The reason the instructions are saying to cut off the connector is because they will more than likely be different and won't connect as is. If the kit you purchased supplied you with ceramic wire nuts, those will work just fine.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

My oven does not maintain desired temperature.

A:

Having a range that won't keep a steady temperature can be extremely frustrating when trying to get dinner done. I did some research and provided a link to a similar question on our site. I hope this will assist you with the temperature problem until the Expert responds to your question in more detail within 24 to 48 hours.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the oven bake igniter does not come back on after the it reaches pre-heat, the electronic oven control will need to be replaced. The electronic oven control #WB27K10141 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct. You will likely need to also order the clock/oven control overlay too if it will not come off from the oven control/clock assembly. The overlay is part #WB27K10002.

If you find the bake igniter glowing for at least 2 minutes and the bake burner never ignites; this would indicate a weak bake igniter and the igniter would need to be replaced.

NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

My oven has a low temp ,but the igniter does come back on, the flame comes on but goes out as soon as the igniter goes off. Is the igniter suppose to stay on the whole time the the flame is lite? Is this still a electronic oven control, or could it be a temperature sensor ?

A:

Nicholas: Yes, the bake glow bar igniter must continue to glow after the burner ignites. If the igniter is going out, the gas valve will close and shut the gas off to the bake burner. If the igniter is going out, it could have a control failure.
