Dan, I am sorry and do understand your frustration that I put on you also.   I thought I verified it well last time but this time it came up so I do sincerely apologize to you.

I have found your model number 362.72205891.   You are right in hearing that sound for gas ranges.  You have a spark module that will send that spark to light your burners.   I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.

Q:

Gas oven repair

A:

When the Kenmore gas oven does not light, it sounds like the gas valve is not opening.  The link provided below will explain in detail.  Hope this helps while an expert responds with model number specific information.   For service, that link is also provided.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The oven uses a glow bar igniter to ignite the bake burner. The igniter must glow and it must pull enough current/amperage to cause the oven safety valve to open.

If the glow bar igniter is not glowing, it could have a broken glow bar igniter, a faulty oven safety valve or a faulty oven thermostat assembly.

When the oven thermostat is set, it must close a set of contacts which completes the path of voltage to one lead of the igniter. The Neutral supply must pass through the oven safety valve to the other wire lead on the igniter.  If voltage is present across the two leads connecting the oven igniter and igniter is not glowing, the igniter is broken and it will need to be replaced. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I added an image below to reference. It will have the theory of oven operations and instructions. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Note: I do not recommend measuring the voltage to igniter unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I suggest calling a service technician.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

Joey- the glow bar is not lit. On these 3 possible causes, can you give me an approximate cost of parts and labor? I know what service call is through Sears.

Beth: The oven glow bar igniter part# WB13K21 is $82.92. The oven thermostat is part #WB20K8 is $95.48 and the oven safety valve is part #WB19K31 and it's $93.55. I would not know what the labor would be. The technician would provide the estimate of repair after diagnosing the failure.

Convert range from propane to natural gas

A:

I understand that you want to convert the range back to natural gas properly. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I provided is helpful. Have a nice day!

The information for converting that range to LP gas is shown in the image below. Some of the text is chopped off but that is the best reproduction that I have for that procedure. The installer should be able to use that information to reverse the conversion back to natural gas. That bake burner orifice should not need to be replaced. The burner spud for that bake burner will just need to be loosened about 2 1/2 turns to the natural gas position.

I hope that this information helps. If you need further assistance, reply with additional details.
