dryer stopped in middle of cycle I have checked circuit, it is ok when i hit start button nothing happens SDE3606AYW

Thank you for your inquiry on your Maytag Dryer, Model: SDE3606AYW. From reviewing the details on your model, Based on your symptom and details, if the house circuit breaker dedicated for the dryer has not tripped and the dryer is getting the proper voltage supply of 220 volts, I suspect the thermal fuse has failed. The thermal fuse is located on the blower wheel housing behind the dryer. The thermal fuse will have two (2) blue wires connected to it. The thermal fuse can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. If the thermal fuse does not measure continuity, the thermal fuse is bad. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the vent hose and rear panel. This may be the issue.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the dryer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Thank You for contacting I do apologize for the delay in answering your question.

If the motor runs but the drum is not turning, then it is likely that you have a broken drive belt. The squealing was most likely from the idler pulley. I recommend replacing both the pulley and the belt. Because if the pulley is bad then you will just break the new belt.

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife.  I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The fault sounds like a thermal fuse and the part number for the replacement fuse would depend on the first 2 numbers of the serial number.  There is a series 10 and a series 14 and the example is if the first 2 numbers are below 10 it is a series 10 and if the first 2 numbers are above 10 but below 14 it is a series 14.  Simple, huh.  If you want to provide me the serial number I will look the part up for you, and let you know which part you will need.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using
