Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You will need to use an Ohm meter and measure the Ohms resistance of the motor windings. See image below. It could be a faulty motor or motor control board. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

  1. Remove the belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. Does the motor spin free? No. Replace the motor. Yes. Go to step (3)
  2. Spin the tub pulley. Does the tub spin free? No. Check the tub bearings. Yes. Go to step (3)
  3. Disconnect the plug from the motor and measure the resistance of the windings (pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3, pin 2 to pin 3). All readings should be between 4 and 6 Ohms. If the readings are correct, replace the speed control board. If the readings are incorrect, replace the motor.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question on the pedal arms coming off the disc axles.

I believe that if you remove the place cap off the arms you will see that the retainer bolt and washer are missing or unscrewed from the crank arm.

Check the part key number 40 and 35 for not being threaded into the crank arm. It looks like the bolt is there but not the retainer washer.

Please let me know what you find out after remove the end cap.

Hi Sam, Thank you so much for you response. I removed the cap on both the left and right sides and both pedals arms are missing 76 large wave washer, 35 M10 washer and 40 M10 X 27mm Patch Screw. I will order those parts. Both pedal bushings are there. Should i be concerned that they are over used and should be replaced as well? Thank you again for your prompt response.

I finally have my answer. The links posted above don't help! I contacted GE through their online chat. They were able to email me the instructions. I had to do this twice, because the first set was too fuzzy to read when I printed it for my plumber. On the second try, they sent it in Word and it worked! If I can figure out a way to attach the directions here, I will. It was such a pain! And get this, when I did contact Sears, they had the nerve to tell me there were no directions (clearly, there are, since I have them in my hands). If you need the directions, I recommend using the online chat through GE!
