I show the same information to remove the button on your trimmer head. Most of these will have some type of a tab on the button that is being pulled past when removing. You may want to spray the button with some penetrating oil (wd-40) to see if that will make it any easier.

The retainer for the spool is mounted on the motor shaft inside the cutting head. When you press the spool into place it goes over the retainer and the fingers of the retainer hold the spool in place.

Clean the inside of the cutting head with WD40 or a similar product. You might have grass or debris inside the cutting head keeping the spool from going in far enough.

If you don't solve the problem by cleaning the cutting head, you should take the trimmer to a Sears Parts and Service Center or a Sears Retail Store for repair. You can find the location nearest you at [www.searshomeservices.com].
