When repairing a hedge trimmer, how does one ensure that one end of the hose is going into the tank. I cannot see it coming out and into the tank.

A:

The fuel line that supplies fuel to the carburetor should have a white filter attached to the end of it. That line should be long enough so the filter will lay side ways in the tank. The return line from the carburetor just has to go back to the tank the length of that hose does not matter. To retrieve the fuel line out of the tank use a metal coat hanger with a hook bent on the end to fish around in the tank to hook on to the lines. Make sure to adjust the length of the fuel lines so there is not a chance they can double up on each other. If the line doubles up it could kink the hose stopping the flow of fuel. I have provided you with a diagram of how the fuel lines should attach. If you need more help please submit more details.
