A:

This could very well be a failed coil. Take the spark plug out and then plug it into the lead. Then use insulated pliers to hold the threaded base of the plug against the cylinder. Have someone pull the starter and you watch the tip of the plug to see if you see spark. If you do see spark then we know the coil is good and the problem is elsewhere.
