Q:

I have a craftsman model 358356280 chainsaw 358356280 Craftsman Chain saw

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. Pull the lines through from the outside of the little holes and then attach the filter on one and the check valve on the other. Then pull the lines back through. The line with the little check valve can pull right up to the hole.  Cut the line about an inch or so above the tank and push the vent plug into the line. You just need to tuck the line out of the way.  The line with the little filter needs long enough so it can move around the entire tank. This is so the filter stays submerged when the saw is tipped.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Dawn, I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. I looked up the model number you submitted. This mode saw has a fuel tank vent and one fuel line going to the carburetor. I found a video that shows how to replace the fuel line on this model. Just click on the link below to watch the video. The other hole in the tank is the fuel tank vent. The vent is made up of a few different parts. The image below shows the order and how they fit together. Just click on the image to enlarge it. The line for the vent does not have to be very long. It just needs to be long enough that you can pull the line in to the tank and connect the vent fitting and the check valve. Once they are connected, you can pull the line back into the tank so that the vent fitting is against the top side of the tank. Then cut the excess line off and connect the vent plug to the end of the vent line. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Mark
