Q:

what are the general settings for the high and low adjusting screws? 358356091 Craftsman Craftsman gasoline chain saws

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Carefully screw in the adjustment screws until they bottom in the carburetor body. (Be careful not to turn in hard and it will put a groove in the needle face).

Turn them out 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns as a starting point, and then you can fine tune the settings from there.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question.   I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. We do not have any written instructions for replacing the fuel line on chainsaws but I will try to help you. First, remove the air filter cover and the air filter. Then draw a diagram of how the fuel line is routed. I have also provided you with an image below showing the fuel line circuit. Then remove the all of the old fuel lines from the saw. When you are ready to reinstall the line cut one end so that it is tapered about an inch up. This will give you something to stick into the hole of the tank. Once in the hole reach into the tank with long forceps and grab the line and pull it through. Once you have it pulled in cut the pointed end off and install the filter. The line should be long enough so the fuel filter is on the bottom of the fuel tank. Then do the same for the return line. The only difference is the return line only has to be sticking in the tank about a half an inch. I have found a few videos that I think might help you. Please click here to watch the first video . Then click here to watch the second video.   If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply below with more details.  If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears  technician.  Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations:  Sears Home Services  Here is a link to order any parts you need. Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem finding the ignition coil. I searched online and the part is no longer available. I was able to find a site that claims part number 530054137 replaces the original part. I looked at the new coil and it looks like the mount is the same. If you would like to try it, the part can be ordered from the following link.

Thought I'd let you know, that coil did not work. The mounting was a little different, and the lead wasn't near long enough. Thanks for the info, I'll return this and keep my eyes open for a new saw...

The housing for the starter is part number 530014403. You can go HERE to order that. You can also use the same link with the model number to pull the parts images for your saw.

Regarding the linkage, I do not have a photograph or drawing for that. I found a photo that I think is similar to yours but I don't know how close it is. I've attached that photo for you in case it's close enough to matter.

If the photo is not close enough you may have to take the saw into a shop to have the linkage put on the saw. With no photo's or drawings to go by and me not having the saw in front of me I really have no way to determine how it connects up.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know what should be in that fuel tank hole.

This model looks like it has only one fuel line and the in the picture you see the pick up tube coming out of the fuel tank and going to the carburetor.

  • I would suggest that you empty the fuel tank and locate the fuel line with the filter on the end in the tank to see if it is still attached to the fuel line. Because of the age of this chainsaw I think the fuel line has deteriorated to the point of breaking off and is no longer there.

  • You will need a new fuel line and filter to install in the fuel tank and then attach that line to the carburetor.

The fuel line kit part number is: 530069216 and the fuel filter part number is: 530091878 and you can purchase them from: Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
